LANDLORD GAS SAFETY CHECKS

It is a legal obligation of landlords in the UK to ensure that all gas appliances in rented properties are safe, repaired and maintained in good working order. All gas appliances must be inspected by a Gas Safe registered engineer and a Landlord’s Gas Safety Certificate issued at a period of no longer than 12 months.

Manufacturers also recommend that appliances are serviced on an annual basis. This is not a legal requirement, but it will ensure that appliances are well maintained and any manufacturer’s warranties are validated.
